Rock Springs arrival postmark Sep 17, 4 am.
Unusual Rock Springs arrival markings - applied with recycled AMF postmark that had 'Field' removed -
may indicate AMF had been discontinued and altered AMF postmark used on air mail at post of fice in Sep 1926.
Alternatively, there is recent information indicating that ?some, [maybe many] early AMFs
did not in fact exist as separate operation located at or near the airfield..
The AMF functions sometimes were performed at the post office, not at the field.
Complicating this issue is the fact that there were 'mobile AMFs' -
on the backs of trucks - at unrecorded locations.
