At the Edges of Confusion aka '1926 combination mail' - Page 12

The Sesquicentennial has three parts in the AAMC CAM section:
the CAM-13 inaugural;
the National Air Races which is listed as part of CAM-13 but is a unique entity;
the CAM-15 inaugural which proved to be a lame effort at survival and flopped.

This item, from the CAM-15 inaugural, is another very interesting Sesquicentennial piece.

This printed envelope was carefully prepared for the use of Norfolk air mail collectors
by the P.R.T. [Philadelphia Rapid Transit, Inc.] Air Service.
P.R.T. was contractor for CAM- 13, the Philadelphia-Washington route
that terminated on Oct 9 1926, and was replaced by CAM- 15,
the slightly longer Philadelphia-Norfolk route.

Printed rate information from top right of cover

When this cover was prepared for transmission the stamp was applied so that it did not obscure the printed tabulation of rate information for combination [confusion] mail dispatched from Norfolk.

This is the only source, located to date, with combination rates applying to the CAM routes
that did not connect with the Transcontinental.

It seems reasonable to assume that, when the P.R.T. envelopes were prepared the tabulation was based on authoritative Post Office information, from a published source or via coordination; this looks like very good source material.
